Float-path partition

  • Path 1 is the reverse driving-edge-only trace from the selected finish target. A non-driving hop ends the trace with a path-break defect (ADR 0307).
  • Paths 2..N are heap-ranked by relative float with recorded join points onto lower-numbered paths. The partition is capped at 25 paths.
  • When the XER provides populated float_path / float_path_order fields, the observed partition is authoritative and the UI reports Jaccard agreement % (by task_code) — or an em-dash when incomparable.

Driving relationships (RFF)

A predecessor relationship is treated as driving when relationship free float (RFF) is at most 1 work-minute (effectively RFF = 0 at schedule resolution). RFF is computed from observed early dates via calendar workMinutesBetween.

This value is additive evidence only — it never overwrites P6-stored total_float_hr_cnt or free float (ADR 0142 / 0289).

Near-critical threshold

The dynamic threshold T defaults to 5% of project remaining duration (hours). The control strip exposes linked days and % fields that stay bi-directionally synced; only override hours are stored. Display rounds half-up to two decimal places (ADR 0290).

Relative float uses lowest-value theory when network minimum total float is negative.

Logic spine

The Activity Network spine uses run-length encoding (RLE) to compress consecutive activities that share the same WBS / status banding, with windowed pan for long paths. Hour→day display uses calendar-aware dayHoursForTask / hoursToDays (ADR 0139) — hardcoded 8 h/day conversion is a defect on this surface.

Tips

  • Prefer keyboard navigation and visible focus rings for accessibility.
  • Use Show/Hide Data on section bars where available; tab-level Excel/PDF live on the ribbon (grid Excel is an approved section exception — see Exports).
